During the half term holiday we held our first baby and children’s clothing swap shop at the children’s centre which went really well and was very successful. Parents brought in their children’s unwanted clothing, they then chose any clothing that they liked and needed for their children and took these away for free. We had some really lovely, clean, good quality clothing, including shoes and coats, etc. which ranged in size from tiny baby to teenage.

We had lots of happy families and the feedback from parents that took part was very positive and they were really pleased with the clothes that they took home for their children. It is also a really good way of saving money and the environment and it is always a good feeling when you get something for free. The children that came along with their parents were delighted with some of their choices and one child insisted on wearing the coat and wellies she had chosen to go home in and a little boy was beaming when he found a LFC kit for himself.

The clothing swap shop was so successful that we are hoping to hold other events during the year, so watch out for them being advertised via the website, Facebook and email if you are on our email database.
